Space Saver

Y'know, four solid years of my life were spent discussing "the space" in terms of visual arts (space within "the gallery", "the studio", the "possibility of space" within the concept of "space"), but I never thought my brain would explode the way it does when poring over the work of Phil Delisle.

Actually, I think my brain just exploded while typing that.
I had the privilege of partly assisting in the installation of his current show at Forest City Gallery. If you are in town, it is worth checking out. But be prepared: You'll want to talk about "the space", even if you don't know what that means right now.

These paintings are amazing. I hope it is displayed at a gallery in Vancouver, then I would be able to see Phil Delisle art in person! Maybe one day he will paint a painting of people looking at a painting of people looking at a painting of a painting of Phil painting a painting.
