Antlers have been in style for a while now, and by all means should be on their way out, or maybe are already "out". Except for the fact that I am still in love with most things antler-related, and these beautiful Stud Earrings by Emma Grace are no exception.

We Still Love Antlers
Antlers have been in style for a while now, and by all means should be on their way out, or maybe are already "out". Except for the fact that I am still in love with most things antler-related, and these beautiful Stud Earrings by Emma Grace are no exception.

Be Mine
This Ceramic Trip Gun Table Vase from Sprout Home is sort of what I imagine Mike giving Hollie for Valentine's this year. Not becuase he is going to murder her, but becuase I think it might be the perfect blend of their personalities. It's sort of Martha Stewart meets Max Payne.
Hold On
Sure, I could continue to hang my coat on the back of my door with one of the hooks I bought at the dollar store two years ago. Or, I could get these amazing Hand Hooks by Harry Allen and hang my coat, my tomato (because every needs somewhere to hang their tomato) AND my candle. Now that's a good deal.

Knuck You Down

If you don't mind, I would like to talk for a second about how much I love the jewelry designer KidViskous. Her jewelry is playful and unique, and pretty much everything I am looking for in terms of something to put around my neck.

I don't know where to buy it, and I guarantee you I cannot afford it, but I really really want this Tree Trunk Table from Moth Design.

Whale of a Tale
Let's just take a moment to say this is the wallpaper of my dreams. Literally. Of my dreams. Whale dreams are my favorite dreams ever, and I can't help but thinking if I fell asleep staring at this beautiful Little Whale Wallpaper by Geoff McFetridge, I would have whale dreams more often.
Freaky Friday (Except It's Thursday)
For a long time now, Hollie and I have said we have some sort of freaky mind connection. It’s hard to explain to other people, but there are just too many times that something happens that is way too weird to be just another coincidence. If it happened sporadically it would be one thing, but it pretty much happens ALL THE TIME.
Case in point: When I lived in Nova Scotia years ago, I used to have these amazing, completely vivid dreams about whales all the time. I was like a whale rider. These dreams were hands down my favorite dreams I have ever had. Ever. Unfortunately, those dreams stopped years ago, and I haven’t had one since.
Until this morning. This morning I woke up at the end of an amazing whale dream. I was so excited to have one again, because it really truly feels like you are swimming with the whales and riding on their backs through the ocean. After I woke up, I went and checked my email and there was an email waiting for me from Hollie, who is in Maui.
It said “I SAW A WHALE GIVE BIRTH”
Weird. Freaky mind connection.

Back in Action!

Ok, so yes, there are days when I do nothing but watch Mad Men. But othertimes, opening a store takes A LOT of work. That's why it's been hard for White Elephant to keep up with regular updates for the last while. But never fear! We're back! And we'll be updating bi-weekly from now on. Huzzah!
Pretty Back Porch
Last summer I inherited a beautiful old wrought iron couch and chair for my back porch, and I have spent the last few months searching for just the right fabric for it. It's taken a while, but I think I've finally decided on the Birch patterned fabric in Robin's Egg over at the Ink & Spindle Shop. It's definitely my favorite, although they have quite a few runners-up as well.

Gah!
I know… I know… we said an update was coming today. But I’m all by myself right now (Hollie is on her honeymoon in Maui) and I had a bunch of work to get done today and I’m still working on it. I’m pooped! And I returned a Blockbuster movie to an independent movie store accidentally, and now I’m worried they’ll like me less because they know I also rent from the big corporate stores! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Anyway, I promise, an update… TOMORROW.

Deliquents and Other Delights
OH EM GEE! We are awful at blogging. You’ll have to excuse us, we had an extremely busy couple of months. Like, remember that time that we opened a store and I got married in the same weekend? That was fun.
Now that the opening/the wedding/Christmas is all done with, our minds feel a bit clearer and we can really put our noses to the grindstone with the online world. We miss blogging! We miss updating! We’ve got a shop update coming Monday of next week, and they should be bi-weekly after that. We’d like to update every week, like we used to on Etsy, but we just don’t have the time to go shopping every weekend anymore. I know, tragic.
I leave you with a drawing I did of an alligator and Jane and I’s high school drama teacher. It gets pretty slow here during the days, so Jane and I have drawing wars via email. I draw on a notepad and take a picture with Photobooth, and Jane uses Paint. We’re pretty amazing artists, you’ll have to admit. My depiction of Mrs. Weller is actually uncanny.

And here, I asked Jane to draw me a squirrel wearing a beret, eating a falafel

Owning a store is pretty great.

You Remind Me Of The Babe
Love love love this Prism necklace by Eli at Oye Modern, and not only because it makes me think of Labyrinth for some reason, which in turn makes me think of David Bowie. My love for this necklace runs deeper than that. But only by a little bit. I mean, nothing compares to David Bowie.

Les Inséparables

Listen up, men. If you are smart, you'll order the Love Birds cut out card from Pocket Studio for your girlfriend/wife/sweetheart/honeybunch/lovebug/cutie pie/babydoll/lady love/boo RIGHT NOW to make sure it arrives in time for Valentine's Day. Because if you do, I can guarantee you'll make at it like them birds.

Ancient Craft

The always lovely and drool-inducing forestbound has recently introduced a line of tote bags and pouches using antique lace and antique military canvas. The results are so sweet and feminine, I couldn't possibly decide on one favourite to feature. I want each and every one. F'realz.
It's Time To Kick Ass And Chew Bubblegum
This series of photographs by Jean-Yves Lemoigne remind me of Duke Nukem 3-D, in the best way possible. Those nOOdz were like, totally smokin'.

Fight Seasonal Depression

..with this beautiful orange jacket. I'm not sure who makes this, or where I can buy it, but Face Hunter featured it recently and I adore it.
A bright orange jacket like that is just what I need to keep the winter blues (and rain) away.

Journey To A New Land

Just what I need! Another journal! But at least the lovely The Journey Journal would be strictly used for all my travel tales. I love love love how you can use a red string on the cover to mark off all the places you've visited. Divine.

Electrical Outlets Make Me Horny

Dear Nendo,
Why must you tempt me like this? You show me your beautiful antler outlet covers and leave me without a way to purchase them.
I think that your idea is brilliant and I could see myself resting my cell phone and/or ipod on the majestic antlers while they charge.
Your fantastic creation has been making the blog rounds in the past few days and everyone is troubled by the fact that the antlers do not appear to be on sale.
Please stop toying with me,
Biljana

Play With Your Food

I think that a food arrangement like this would be amazing for a dinner party, and it would also be a great way to get little kids to eat their darn vegetables.
Check out her flickr page for more pictures and tutorials.

Portions For Foxes
This Christmas was pretty great, but next Christmas I am totally putting this Foxy Portemone Clutch on my list. I have wanted one of these clutches for so long that is always kind of amazes me I haven't bought one yet. I must change that soon... soon soon soon.
