Laura, now that you've got your very own apartment (in the same building as me!!!) you'll need some lovely new furnishings. Like, say, oh I don't know, this Horse Clock from Decoy Lab. I know you're drooling right now, and I'm sure you could convince Carl into one more horse themed piece of decor.
I don't necessarily consider myself an old soul, but I do love a good rocking chair. The rocker and ottoman set from Lotus Bleu proves that you don't have to drink prune juice and watch Murder, She Wrote to have a nice rocker in your home.
I confess; I've never really been into the whole stamping scene. Rubber stamps have just never appealed to me, but maybe that's because I have never found such an adorable stamp set as this beautiful Winterscape Stamp Set over at The Curiosity Shoppe.
I have no idea how Sharon Montrose gets to photographic the animals she does in these amazing portraits, but I basically want every one of them. And I also want to be as up close and personal to all these animals as she gets to be.
I love the ocean so much. I love both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans. I love the coast. I love coastlines. The coast draws you in, draws you back. And once you've realized there's a possibility that you might visit the coast again, it's all you can think about. At least, it's all I can think about lately. Hence, the Coast Rings from Hannah Lamb. The rings can be commissioned from any coastline map, and I don't think I could decide on which coastline to favour.
Amazing vintage dress on Etsy at Lady Grunge Vintique. You are all so lucky that I can't wear strapless, or this would be gone. Snap it up before someone else does.
This week I am completely loving the vintage wears over at Smitten Clothing. They have an amazing selection of great high-waisted skirts for the summer, as well as the cutest sun dresses ever.
At the store, Hollie and I have somehow never gotten around to buying a proper stapler. We use one of those teeny tiny ones from the dollar store that are good for nothing. I think it's time we invest in this beautiful Solid Wood Stapler from The Curiosity Shoppe so I can stop drooling over it and finally staple with it.
Well looky here. It looks like I was a little late in realizing that everyone's favorite discount department store, Target, now stocks Orla Kiely. Just another reason I need to plan a road trip to the states.
This weekend Jane and I may be travelling out east, where we hope to stop and shop for some great finds along the way. We’re pretty impulsive, and decided yesterday that if Jane is able to get next Monday and Tuesday off, we’ll head out to Nova Scotia to attend our friend Erica’s grad show. I’ve pretty much got it set in my head that we’re going, so Jane better get those days off. Both of us love the East Coast an immeasurable amount.
Speaking of friends and their events, tonight is the Junior Boys first show to promote their incredible new album Begone Dull Care. It’s at The Pepper Jack Cafe and should be a great show.
We’re so lucky to have so many wonderful and talented friends. I do wish that Jeremy came up with a better White Elephant theme song though. He should probably stick with the Junior Boys.
I can't wait for spring for many, many reasons. One reason that I'm really looking forward to is that I can wear cute hair accessories again, without worrying about whether my winter hat will fit over them, or ruin them. I love the feather fascinator trend, but I also love how creative the designs and materials are becoming for fascinators. Etsy of course, has some of the best and most unique ones on the internet.
These Prairie Boots have been on my favorites list for a really really long time now, and for someone reason I just haven't got around to posting them, even though I completely LOVE them. Then this weekend I went to the mall for the first time in ages, and THEY WERE IN STORES. Well, not these specific ones, but ones that looked remarkably similar. I was shocked.
I just discovered Alpinestars...and it's safe to say that I want one of everything. This might be one of those situations where one needs to lock the credit card away for a while.
I especially want that black sweater. I love that asymmetrical collar action.
I know, I know. I already own a wicked vintage leather jacket (that was worn by a motorcycle riding hippie who traveled across Canada on her bike while wearing it) and I shouldn't be coveting a different one. But I can't help it. The Alanis leather jacket from Soia & Kyo is too badass not to covet.
I clearly have some sort of newfound obsession with small stud earrings. But when you see cute adorable button earrings like these ones from Sophie Hill, can you blame me? Bonus: they are buy three, get one free!
Please and thank you I will take both of these ultra-adorable Adorn Purses from Plus1 Design. I think theres a new embroidery obession starting somewhere inside me, and this may or may not have to do with the fact that I currently wearing embroidered days of the week underwear that Hollie made me about 500 years ago. (gross?)
I've been house sitting for my dad for the past few months, and while it's nice to have someplace to stay for free, the paint colors and general decor are god awful. I'm thinking I should spice things up while he's gone. Some paint here, a new lamp there. Maybe even this beautiful Animal Farm Wallpaper from Rare Device in the guest room. My dad would probably cry, but at least I would love it!
The Norwegian Kimono Dress from Ruche is most definitely a dress my Grandmother would have rocked, back in her day. I think I should buy it and make her proud by rockin' it in 2009.
Edit: I used the term "rockin'" twice. I am so lame. I'm running out of cute anecdotes for dresses.
