I have a strong desire to go on a solitary trip to the Yukon. Not entirely sure why, there's just something so intriguing about the landscape to me. So, when I found out that Basia Bulat's newest album Heart Of My Own, was largely inspired by her time in Dawson City, I knew it would be amazing.
Guess what? I was right! Like it wouldn't have been amazing anyways. I love this girl.
I saw Basia Bulat as an opening act a couple years ago, and I went specifically to see her. People were talking so loudly throughout her set that I could barely hear her voice.

ReplyDeleteDid we ever. She was awesome. I was embarassing. I gave her this Yukon necklace I made because I was into the wine in a heavy way and felt like we had some sort of sentimental northern connection because of our mutual love of Dawson. It was pretty heartwarming (read: possibly uncomfortable for her).
