KABLAM

That brightens up the dreary landscape a little, now doesn't it?

A yarn-bombing campaign has started in Hamilton, just in time for the holidays, and a couple of us went out in the freezing weather last night to contribute! You can read an article about it in the Hamilton Spectator here, with some awkward quotes from yours truly.

(By the way, all I can think of when I read that headline is the Bob Loblaw storyline on Arrested Development and the headline "Bob Loblaw Lobs Law Bomb!")

These installations belong to a number of ladies including Courtney, Kate, Anna, Gabby, Laura, Brandi, my sisters Nikki and Jules, myself and Jane. We yarn-bombed the cuss out of the bridge, don't you think? I had really grand aspirations of cross-stitching an entire pattern into the links of the fence but there are two things we should consider here: 1) Cross-stitching a fence is NOT as easy as one may think, and would benefit from having a crochet hook or other such device on hand. 2) Yarn bombing is an outdoor activity, and therefore may be better suited to warmer weather conditions.

So, needless to say, Jane and I were pretty happy that we had completed our god's eyes weavings in advance. It was miserably cold, and being on that bridge above the train tracks was kind of like being stuck in a wind tunnel. But everyone who came out were amazing champs, and we'll be doing more all week. I hope that other people contribute and add their own pieces to the fence or anywhere along the street!

Like this. I came across this piece today, across the street from our shop. Isn't it incredible? It's a fun time to walk down James Street North right now. It really forces you to open your eyes and check out your surroundings in a new light.

Dang. Please count me in on the next one. I totally forgot and Sean didn't tell me you texted to ask where we were until about 9pm.
