Jane and I both enjoyed our week off. I feel like I've eaten nothing but chocolate and cheese for the past week, and sat on my couch and watched good movies. It isn't lost on us how lucky we are to be in the position to be able to take a week off to recuperate. We are so thankful that we have a community which supports our endeavours and understands how hard we work. Thanks y'all. We have been mentally and physically recharged and are ready for 2011, with lots of fun things in store.
But let's catch up on the last little bit of 2010. I'm still getting used to having a digital camera that I actually like (LOVE, actually) so I'm slowly remembering to bring it out more.

These were taken at the December art crawl. A pretty black and tan winter theme of dresses and coats in the shop, and an amazing installation by Zsuzsa Szöke. Zsuzsa is a recent NSCAD grad, and a pretty magical person in general. You'll be able to find her work in the shop sometime in the new year. I also think we'll be seeing a lot more gods eyes popping up in 2011.

Our Christmas tree, my Christmas presents from Jane, and our holiday card banner. I love real trees, but this year I just didn't feel right about cutting one down to be in our house for a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed, this little Norfolk Pine will be our living Christmas tree, year round. I really hope I don't screw this up, because the idea of having a Christmas tree grow with us is so romantic to me. This year, I topped it with my own gods eye ornament. I grabbed some twigs from my backyard and some embroidery floss and made some small ones for presents.I had started a collection of Junior Deluxe Edition books, or hoped to, as I had only come across one in my travels so far (the aptly titled "Freckles"). Jane, the sweetheart that she is, came across a whole lot of them and scooped them all up for me. She even wrapped each one individually. I am a lucky duck. I am head over heels in love with the design of these books. I can't wait to hang another conceal shelf and have them floating on my wall.
Holiday card banners are one of my favourite traditions. They are such a simple way to make the house look festive. And to remind us that we are loved.

A view of Hamilton from the escarpment, and one of my cats. I love both of these things equally. These photos feel a bit disjointed from one another. I vow that 2011 will be the year of cohesive thought processing! But seriously, so much in store. We love that we get to do this for another year. Happy 2011!
Oh I love the design and colours of those Junior Deluxe Edition books! What a great collection to have.
