Slowly but surely I have been getting around to making the apartment feel more like home. This weekend I finally hung my collection of antique group photos. I stopped actively collecting these about a year ago, when my collection outgrew available wall space in my old apartment.

Lucky for me I can always count on Hollie to find me one or two amazing photographs for Christmas presents or birthdays. If she hadn't kept finding them for me after I stopped, my collection would be way smaller.

I couldn't get a good detail shot, but my favorite ones are the two in the long, thick, brown wooden frames. They are both from Bethel in the Hills Bible Camp (1977), and one is of the junior campers, and the other is the junior high kids. So many amazing people in those pictures.
Another favorite is the one with the mustard matting - it's the Dundas Bombers Hockey Team from 1949. I love that I managed to find one so local.

Anyway, now that they are hung, it's safe to say I will be actively collecting these guys again. I can't wait to keep adding to the wall.

That looks so amazing Jane! I just love old group photos, it's so fun to look at all the details in them - the facial expressions, attire, etc. So good.
this looks so good jane. love it.
Thanks ladies!
What an amazing collection! I love it!
LOVE!
What a great collection of photos. I love them all.
Beautiful display. Question, have you thought of contacting the local archives to see if they are interested in those photographs that are from the Hamilton area? That way, these photographs would be preserved and made accessible for the community a large. Just a thought.
Congratulations on your photos making it to Poppytalk!
Love this!! The way you hung them up the stairs is great too, I bet it takes people forever just to walk up your stairs as they pause to study these awesome pictures.
I bought a class photo at an antique store once and had to get it reframed, the woman who cut the matt for it was so intrigued she googled the pennants to learn more about the school then she passed the info on to me! love the history of these great finds!
I'm going to included this in my Thurs "links and Such" on my blog! http://tiptoethrough.blogspot.com/
what a great wall to have them on, I love your staircase! we have a few of these too, mostly military ones, but pretty water damaged.
what an awesome collection!
What an amazing idea! I love vintage photos, but for some reason I skip over the class portraits. Now I think I'll look twice. Thanks again!
this is really beautiful. so great that these class pictures get to live on as art. always so interesting to gaze at the faces and imagine their lives... who had crushes on who, etc...
found you through Poppytalk! ^__^
