Jane and I have spent the better part of this week working on our Spring window. And I'm in love. I hold so many previous window displays close to my heart, but this may be a new all-time favourite. It has been raining non-stop for the past three days here in Hamilton, which can get kind of gray and gloomy, but I just need to look at our work and it fills my heart with hope for colour and light just around the bend. Spring spring spring spring spring spring spring!
Finding a giant tree branch on the side of the road, we covered it in bright unspun wool to give the impression of spring blooms. Add some apple crates, an adorable vintage polka-dot blouse and skirt, plus an assortment of vibrant new pieces from Tree & Kimball, Handle & Spout and Larque and kapow! Most cheerful window display yet.
Besides being Art Crawl tonight, which is always pretty fantastic in itself, we're super pumped because the sweet and lovely ladies from Victoire will be visiting this weekend! We're totally thrilled and giddy and a little bit nervous to show them our digs. So come out! Say hi! Brave that weather one last time! Help us show them how completely awesome this city is.
Edit: I feel so fortunate and thankful to be able to gripe about small things the weather on a day like today. If you haven't already, please donate to the Japan Earthquake and Asian Pacific Tsunami relief.

ReplyDeleteGreat new display - I walked by it the other day! Can I ask where you got the coloured wool? My sister has been looking for some. -kris
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteKris - we got the wool over two years ago, so I can't quite remember. But it was possibly just Michael's! Or the yarn store in Ancaster.
