Bringing Oktak Back
I'm bringing the change purse back!
Ok, maybe I'm not single-handedly doing it... but I am definetely in full support of the lovely change purses over at Oktak.
Gorgeous!

I am absolutely head over heels for this Modest Beauty bag made from vintage fabric by T T Collections.
If this is the first round of bags, I'm chomping at the bit to see what's next!

You can't tell from the picture, but this Wooden -Handle Clutch from Old Navy is actually oversized, which ups the fabulous factor by a zillion!
It's a fact. Science.

I want this purse so badly, and I was fully mentally preparing myself to buy this (aka trying to remember my credit card number), when I happened to glance at the price.
What in the hell? At first I thought it said $45.00, and I was pumped!!! Ok, I still want this purse so badly, but now along with mentally preparing, I have to financially plan.

Alright, if you have been paying attention, you may notice I have a 'thing' about 'expensive' tote bags. I mean... it's a tote! I loooove totes but the inflation is killing me. I know environmentally conscious shopping is so sexy right now, but paying $70 for three pieces of canvas is ridiculous and incredibly demeaning.
You guys, the original Anya Hindmarch tote was only £5.
So its nice that expensive Totes are putting their ridiculous profit margins to work with the World Food Programme FEED bag... you get a chic tote and one needy student gets enough food for a whole school year. Added bonus? Many of these students would not even be in school, if not for the incentive of a daily meal through the FEED program.
Healthy and educated children make me love tote bags even more. (Thanks, swiss miss)

Thank god for the large hand bag trend.
I spent a good portion of last night (and this morning) looking over the wares at Madison Gré. In the end, I selected my first love, this lovely huge tote that could cart my laptop, portfolio, library books and chocolate bars around town... even though what I have really been looking for is a lovely (cheap) clutch.
And still, Madison Gré provides... here and here. And here. And, why not, here too. Or a wallet that could be a clutch.
And finally, for giggles, here is another handbag. Finished.

You don't even understand how into the "no more plastic bags!" mentality I've gotten. I've been refusing bags left, right and center. Which is why when I saw this Reusuable Gift Bag from Keep Calm Gallery, I literally squealed in delight at the thought of another type of bag that I could cut out the equation. What a fantastic idea!!!

Um, so, Ramona West, I was thinking that I'd also like to be your best friend for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I purchased that stunning brown lace dress Jane posted and I intend to wear it with pride and gush over the wonderful store that I got it from. And secondly, I didn't realize that you made such amazing clutches. I mean, if you couldn't already tell, I'd be the kind of friend who would tell you how incredible you are constantly.

A few days ago, a lovely person emailed us to see if we could help her find a cute, preferably vegan-friendly wallet for a Christmas present. This request was a little near and dear to my heart, because I have been looking (not too thoroughly) for a wallet for myself for months. No really, I've been carrying around all my stuff in a little passport holder given to me by Black's ever since my old (beloved) wallet was stolen last March.
So.... it is with great pride and pleasure that I introduce to you, dear reader, the wallet I just purchased for myself. In truth, when I stumbled across it I was looking just for myself. But then I saw the words "vegan friendly" and what do ya know! Quiet Doing has a ton of great, cute wallets... one for every vegan still left on your shopping list.

Dear Thomas Paul,
Please stop with the whole "everything I make is amazing" thing you've got going on. I mean, I appreciate it and all, but my sanity (and my bank account) can't take it anymore. I get a little depressed when I see you come out with one beautiful thing after another. Your line of tote bags is no exception.

When I signed up for a photography class recently, I had forgotten that you actually need to bring things to classes, like books and paper and other required materials. A backpack was out of the question because they are way too bulky, and almost never cute. So I decided on this Crow Tote from pushmepullyou design, and I feel like it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I don't have a laptop (yet!), but if I were to have one, I would most definitely carry it around in this super cute and eco-friendly Laptop Bag from Canadian designers Passenger Pigeon.

Today I had to do some grocery shopping, and I was so proud of myself because I actually bought some reusable bags at the checkout instead of being lazy and getting plastic bags AGAIN. They're nothing too fancy. They're actually pretty hideous. But it's ok, I'm saving the planet.
Except, when I got home and saw that Envirosax had sent us an email letting us know that their new and gorgeous Bamboo Totes were now available, I was a little mad at myself for having to be so eco-conscious that very second. I'm so impatient sometimes.

So this is what I'm thinking: call Visa to up my credit limit by a couple of thousand, book a couple of days off work, hop in the car to drive to Pennsylvania and blow a ton on Anthropologie's new fall collection? Who's with me?
Check out the Geneseo Shirtdress, Dress Shirt Heels, and Buttons & Braids Bag, if you need some convincing.

Am I the last person in the world to know about matt & nat? Today at lunch, my friend Laura was telling me a story about her matt & nat purse, and I just stared at her blankly. She couldn't believe I had no idea who she was talking about. Then, we went to the mall at lunch, and I saw their purses in FOUR DIFFERENT STORES. I have been living under a rock. A very unfashionable rock.
I think I have to make it up to them by purchasing one of their bags from the vintage line.

I always, always, always, complain that summer goes by too fast. At the same time, I am guilty of yearning for fall weather too soon. Especially when I come across the sweetest little autumn clutch like this Isadora Clutch from Mad Imports.

It seems like everybody at my work has a case of "baby fever" right now. Which means I'll be attending 394839 baby showers by the end of this year. I'm not really required to buy any gifts for said showers, since most of them are those boring office ones where everyone sits around in a boardroom eating cake while surrounded by pastel coloured balloons, but if I did have to buy a gift I would most certainly go with the Loops Baby Bag from Murge Designs. The new mother could feel adorable and stylish for about 3 seconds, until it's covered in baby puke.

I don't really have much to say besides I really really like these Cybele Travel Pouches from Chicken Pox Designs. I love having a multitude of bags and pouches to put my belongings in, and these are so pretty! Plus, they have really cute linings with little pockets inside (I really like pockets) and that was pretty much my cherry on top. There's also a ton of other makeup bags, change purses and other things on the site that are pretty awesome too. Go check it out!
