So Vain
Why, yes, Joe, I would love to be Carly Simon this summer.
And maybe I will wear this dress.

I'm sorry that we've been lacking so much lately in the post department. It's just that I can't motivate myself to post, knowing that Jane is away on vacation, drinking margaritas and lying on the sunny beaches of the Dominican at this very moment. It is so cruel for her to leave me behind to post pictures of the bathing suit that I would be wearing right now if I was there with her.

I've already organized dance classes and a kickball league for the summer, so I think my next challenge is to organize a fox hunt. Why, you ask? So that I may have a fabulous event where I can wear this absolutely frickin' gorgeous chapeau de chasse and feel all sassy like.

Hanna, remember that time on the weekend that you couldn't remember what an acorn looked like? THIS is an acorn. An acorn on an adorable widdle baby onesie!

Hello, Spring. It's so nice to finally see you. I've missed you very much. And I can't thank you enough for sending along with you the adorable Ruffle Dress from American Eagle. It will make the time we spend together so much more enjoyable.

This weekend it snowed in England (for five minutes) thus heralding the beginning/end of a London winter in one easy step. While we've been enjoying spring since October, I'm afraid summer will not be an authentic season either, which is more of a bummer. So, in consolation I shall dream about taking this sweet Southern frock for a little turn about the green.
Because it is still cold. And I am broke.

Approaching 'grown up'hood, one cannot deny the hipness of a blouse and I'm glad the ironic tee-shirt factory that is Topshop agrees. I think we can all safely approach twenty-five if we decree ladylike is to be the new hotness.

This dress from our newest and wonderful sponsor Mod Cloth seems like the perfect one to post today, seeing as it's called After the Storm. Another snow storm hit AGAIN today, so I don't think I'll be wearing this dress anytime soon, but at least I can pine over it and pretend like warmer weather is just around the corner.

Summer, come quickly. If not to put some sun and colour into my life, then to allow me to wear some of Passenger Pigeon's Spring/Summer '08 collection without freezing my buns off.
SO cute.

So, guess what? I am about to be 100 times poor-er.
Why? Because Anthropologie now ships internationally! Hide your credit cards everyone!
Of course, now that they do ship here, you could always buy me the Pagoda Petal Dress as a birthday present!

I didn't think it could be done, but Erudite Wit has one-upped their last attempt of producing the nerdiest shirt ever. The newest design - Hammer and Sickle (Cell Anemia) - is a shirt that both nerds and communists can wear proudly.

I had a friend in when I was in highschool who introduced me to the wonderful world of Mod Culture, complete with downtown shopping trips, mix CD, dancing visit to the Mod Club and general lessons of what it truly means to be "cool" in the Mod-type sense of the word.
Anyways, I can't help but think of those stellar days than when I peruse the list of goodies available at modcloth.com.
Love!
* Touch of Grey Sweater Dress
* Wine Tasting Dress
* Distant Galaxy Dress
* Flowers at Dusk Dress
* Ven Diagram Belts
* Marzipan Coat (sigh...)
* and Herring Bone Sailor Pants.

So what if you, me, and the rest of the world never thought that tie-dye could ever evolve into something wearable.* Something extremely wearable. Something so wearable I am already planning the appropriate Audrey shades/leggings/daiquiri I need to pull off the look. You guys, I am really digging the 'drip dye' trend.
*Besides my tie-dye "Olympic Lithuanian Basketball Team c.1992" tee shirt. But really, I was nine... and even then, I wasn't completely sold.

If I suddenly had a reason to look for bridesmaid dresses that fit the theme of a casual fall wedding in Northern Canada, I might be inclined to choose this Dallin Chase Helmut Halter Dress from shopbop.
But you know, that's only if I had a reason.

While adorable and possibly magical, what do rodents know about seasonal trends? That is why I choose to follow the Fashion Marketing calander, and lo'! Behold! Spring merch is slowly filtering its way through the racks!
Alright, considering Topshop was trying to stuff me into jumpers mid-July, this method may not be the most accurate prediction of the real climate. However, it is a good forcast of my lovely, annual cognitive-dissonance season, where I wear all my spring skirts in an act of denial/delusion that is really is getting warmer.
Join me?
(Of course in London, its always 10C, so this post is a little nostalgic for those Canadian 'wind chill factor' months. I join you in spirit, sisters!).

Did you ever think that someone this season should do something with lace? Not the doily, anorexic Victorian stuff but real big lace, man's lace, lace that will kick your ass without removing its prescription glasses first? Just to stare possible ocular trama straight in the eyes?! Oh, and it looks good doing all of the above (and yo momma too!).
Well Janet Kim has a resume to die for and a fashion line, Graey, that is not afraid to dress up. Yeah, you run fast, American Apparel basic tee.
