Weight For It

Did I nearly die of cuteness when I saw these adorable Zuny animals and other assorted bookends and paperweights at Chapters the other day?

Yes, I did.

Laura, remember how almost a year ago I instructed you to have some babies so I can buy you cool design-y baby stuff? Well, the time has come. Seriously - you might want to start working on that, because my list is growing.

Taintor Love

So, I've loved Anne Taintor's work since well, forever, but just got my hands on one of her fabulous air fresheners to dangle in my (freshly cleaned!) car.

I stood there in the store for a long time deciding between the Grapefruit or the Chocolate Covered Cherries scents... and I went for the Grapefruit.
Now my car smells all tangy and delicious.

(Not to mention the fact that the phrase says it all... especially when refering to time spent choosing air fresheners).

Pelecanidae

Did you guys know that Jane has a collection of pelicans? It's a little weird, but I am also jealous of how wicked all the pelican imagery looks in her living room. That's why I immediately thought of you, Jane, when I came across these Pelican Sticker Stamp Set from Three Potato Four. I think I like your collection more than you do.

Don't Look Back In Anger

Lomography, you may have recently dropped the ball with my order of the Diana+, but I think it's time to forgive you because you just released the Holga 120 Pinhole, and I can't stay mad at you when you keep releasing such wonderful cameras.

Ok, maybe I can a little bit. But Holga, it's not your fault baby. I love you.

In Honour Of The Shy

This Delicate Heart Paper Doll is far more gorgeous and intricate than any boring Barbie paper doll set I had as a kid.

Skeleton Key

I love old keys. I think it's the part of my personality that also loves secret hiding places, and abandoned buildings, and used vintage postcards. So even though these gorgeous Porcelain Keys from Rare Device aren't old or spooky, they still have a special place in my heart.

Gypsy And Twink

Love It A Lot has brought a very surprising turn of events to my life: I am actually less likely to buy things now. Why? Because almost daily, I find and post something I absolutely love. So when I keep finding great things day after day, it becomes hard to convince myself that this one great thing is so great that I actually need to buy it.

Confused?

Anyway, these hand-made wooden items at Gypsy and Twink are the first thing in a while where I have immediately rushed for my credit card, and that had to talk myself down from it, because I really just want them that much.

Well Hot-Dog!

So, I might have mentioned at some point in my life that I love fuzzy stuffed inanimate objects.

So I nearly squealed out loud with glee upon finding out about Nicole Gastonguay's cute cute crocheted darlings. She'll be expanding the store on the site soon, and this makes me excited.
The detailing on the work is super cute too - mustard made of yarn? Adorable!

Nothing makes me want to cuddle more with a sandwich.

The Seaweed Is Always Greener

Check out this Shark. It's seriously adorable. Maybe I'm on some sort of plush-animal kick right now, or maybe I'm just tapping into my inner child, but oh my gosh do I ever love this Titanic (very big) Shark from Skullknockers Etsy site.

She has a whole bunch of other cute things too, like pretty much everything in the Knockers of the Sea category.

Chillin Like A Villain

I just received an email from Melissa Sue, and oh my god if this isn't the cutest stuffed creature you have ever seen than you would probably taxidermy your own baby.

Ok, I'm well aware that last sentence made no sense.

Anyway, this Striped Blue Amigurumi Chicago Monster is adorable, and I love how the artist didn't just take your standard pictures of her creations against a white backdrop. I'll admit it, my love for this little monster is probably 10 times stronger because he's sitting so casually against the cement, overlooking the river.

Forged Towards One Destiny

Ok, I'm going to be kind of a camera supernerd for a second, but bear with me. I think that my next big purchase is going to be the Limited Edition Red/Gold Seagull TLR because I want to get a little more serious about my photography and start using film, and also because it is the MOST BEAUTIFUL CAMERA I HAVE EVER SEEN.

I kind of want to buy it just so that it becomes the subject of most of my pictures.

There Is No Other Like Mother

How much would you love your very own Little Mr. T? I would love it, a lot. (Oh I'm so clever with my witty puns).

But seriously, he comes complete with a gold plated chain. I love it.

Best Aunt Ever

I not sure if this qualifies as something I love a lot, but I couldn't pass up posting it.

Check out these Pee and Poo plush dolls from fredflare.com. I think I'm going to buy them for my little cousin's birthday, and watch her mom's head spontaneously combust.

A Part Of Our Heritage

Forget those Dr. Penfield commercials, the real heritage worth learning and remembering is all in this Let's Paint the 90's Colouring Book. Where else would you find Dennis Rodman, The Olsen Twins, and Kris Kross all in one place?

(Actually... you will probably find them all on the next season of The Surreal Life).

The Seaweed Is Always Greener

Ever since I bought those Planet Earth DVD's I've been slightly obsessed with anything remotely "under the sea". That's why I love these Plush Octopus (Octupie?) from This Place Is A Zoo. Nevermind Teddy Bears, these guys are about 100 times more awesome.

This site is pretty great though, as they essentially have a stuffed animal for any animal you couldn't possibly be looking for. What's that? You wanted a Stuffed Coatimundi? No problem! How about a Komodo Dragon as well?

The Kids Will Love You

This is hands down the best present I have ever bought my little cousins. The Harvest Your Own Pearl Kit may seem sort of gross at first glance, but really, it's ingenious. Each kit comes with an oyster that is still alive, inside a container. You open the container, and you actually have to pry open the oyster. A little gross, but kids love it. Once it's open, there is an honest-to-goodness pearl inside.

The kit provides a necklace with a silver cage pendant. The cage opens up, you put the pearl in, and the boom! Your little niece or daughter has a necklace to wear that they helped create. It automatically guarantees you the title of best aunt ever. This present went over better than any other present I've ever given them.

I Want This

I want this. At the moment I am kinda sick and grumpy, so I don't have the energy to be all witty and clever about the reasons I want this. Just know that it's really interesting, really good reading, and it comes in a wood box.

Dunnies!!!

I'm not one for hoarding kitschy knick-knacks or choking-hazards from the bottom of cereal boxes, but there's just something rad about these collectible 3" Dunny figurines from Kid Robot. Each Dunny is made in the limited quantities described on the side of its box and is disguised from the buyer's plain view so that each purchase is a surprise.

Little Old Lady Collection

There's a small glass-blowing shop in downtown Quebec city that sells fancy glasses and tableware for a fortune. It sells tiny handblown glass animals that I love. Every time I pass through Quebec, I stop and pick up another one.

Well, I just happened to be browsing the internet, and I found THESE!!! I want to buy the whole freaking collection just so that I can own that hippo. That hippo is adorable.

It's true, I collect small handmade glass animals. I am an old lady (but hey... I only have one collection of old lady things, making Hollie way more of an octegenarian than I will ever be)
