What Makes A Garden Grow, Grow, Grow?

I'm a terrible gardener, but I'm actually an alright baker. Now, if you had the same traits as I, wouldn't you just be drooling all over this super cute Garden Patch Cakelet Pan from Williams-Sonoma??!?!?!?

Answer: Yes, you would.

Here Is My Handle, Here Is My Spout

I do believe that these best ever measuring cups from the newly opened Whiteport are aptly named. Just look at those spouts! Perfection.

It's Your Birthday, It's Your Birthday Boy Or Girl

Jane, I think you should order this Bamboo Bathtub Caddy with Wine Glass Holder for your birthday, which is today. I would have bought it for you if I had seen it sooner, and if I weren't already insane with jealousy over your ability to take baths in your deep clawfoot tub. It would utterly kill me if I gave you a present which then enabled you to take long, relaxing baths in your deep clawfoot tub while reading a book and drinking a glass of wine.

I know, I know, I should just buy a plug from the dollar store and quit complaining.

Together at Last

For years I maintained that I hated tea. It was only this October when my aunt served me a cup that I thought to myself "gee... I used to hate tea, but that was also back when I hated coffee. Maybe now that I love coffee, I will also like tea".

It was a bit of an awakening.

However, no matter how much I love a good cup of tea now, I still find tea bags utterly annoying and despise the drippy mess they usually leave on my counter (because I'm too lazy to use a saucer). Luckily Catching Fireflies has this ingenious Pouch Mug, to help my new found love & I grow that much closer.

Scrabulicious

With Scrabulous proving to be the best thing to happen to facebook, I think it's only fitting that I draw your attention to this lovely Chocolate Scrabble bar by Mary & Matt.

It's delicious AND fun... my two favorite adjectives.
(Some might say it's also educational)

Fairy Cake

Remember how good food would look in the old Disney Cartoon Classics? Like that time that Pluto broke into a gumball machine and ate all the pieces, I couldn't stop dreaming of bubblegum. Or when Donald Duck prepared a steak, it would look so tantalizing that I wanted to lick my television. Maybe I was just a super gluttonous kid, but these Wetter Indochine Cupcake Bowls have that same fake food perfection appeal to them, and I can't help but salivate. And lick my computer screen.

A Truce, Of Sorts

Scooters and I, we aren't friends. When I took a trip to BC last year, there was an unfortunate incident involving me crashing a scooter in the middle of an intersection. I was stuck on the ground underneath a scooter, cars stopped all around, my pink flannel pyjama pants torn, and my boobs going all over the place cause I wasn't wearing a bra (I had just woke up). The next day I had the ugliest bruise you have ever seen, that was the exact shape of the mirror that broke off the bike. So yeah, needless to say, we're not friends.

However, just because it didn't work out, that doesn't mean that I can't absolutely LOVE this Scooter Cutting Board at Elsewares.

A Cook At Heart

Although I have a long standing tradition of ordering in Chinese food on Valentine's Day, I thought that I'd share this cast iron heart shaped casserole dish for any of you who might have the romantic tradition of making a casserole for your sweetie on that day.

Tuna casserole just screams true love, doesn't it?

Stewards Of The Land

Did you make a New Year's resolution to eat healthier? Me too. Did you make a New Year's resolution to do your part in saving our beautiful planet? Me too! Since we are kindred spirits, I'll let you in on how I'm doing both at the same time.

I've signed up to receive weekly winter shares from plan b Organic Farm. They have huge shares, a great selection of fruit/vegetables/herbs, and it's organic and locally grown. You can't really get much better than that. Wait, I lied. They'll also send recipes and how to prepare/care for the food you got in your weekly shipment, just in case you have no idea what to do with all those parsnips and leeks.

The price is right, there are tons of pickup locations (or you could opt for home delivery even!), and you're doing a service to yourself, the local economy and our environment. What an easy way to strike some resolutions off your list.

Yule Scream For Ice Cream

Normally I'm not a huge fan of Blizzards from DQ... I find them a little bland and not much fun... Sure, there's like, chunks of tasty stuff in there, but the Blizzard treat just never tickled my fancy.

Until now.

The new Yule Flip Peppermint Chip variety (the Blizzard of the month) has won my heart and I'll never say mean things about DQ icecream ever again.

Peppermint, chocolate, icecream, witty use of the word "Yule": it makes me so glad!

The Lake Effect

This weekend I braved a snow storm and slept over at Jessica's house just so I could eat all the delicious baked goods she was whipping up with Rue. And while I cannot match Jessica in the kitchen, I did invent the 'all dressed chocolate-dipped pretzel' (topped with toffee, almonds and coconut). Therefore I should be allowed to, at the very least, don a pretty apron... perhaps, even this pretty apron.

Chef's jacket makes me look flat anyway.

Please note: Smashing Darling has a whole section for aprons. Go on, die a little from the twee.

Breakfast Time

I can't believe that I have not posted of this yet.

Everyone keeps asking how much I like London, and I think of places and things and people that I like, but hands down, my favourite place to go is Cora's! (or "Chez Cora", to be completely correct).

Breakfast! Breakfast! Breakfast! I'm so in love, I think I'll ask for my last meal to be at Cora's.

Favourites: eggs! fruit! crepes! and anything with hollandaise sauce.

I love it so much, that Ty and I drove through blizzard conditions this Sunday morning to eat at 8am (before the line-up starts). We left completely satisfied, full of hot chocolate and breakfast goodness.

Ever wanna date me? - Take me here.

I Have Always Been A Fan Of The Silly Straw

In terms of beverage consumption, my eyes have been opened. How could I ever drink grape pop with anything, but strawz?

I never knew life had meaning, until now.

Fountain Of Youth

I will totally drink a liquid that promises to work with my "body's chemistry to promote Healthy Skin from Within".

I wonder...

BORBA seems like a fantastical company concocting super-skin potions out of vitamins, minerals and other magical things.

Please Santa, bring me perfect skin for Christmas.

More Cupcakes Please

Speaking of cupcakes, (and posting binges), I MUST add how much I love love love The Cupcake Shoppe, and how disappointed I am that we never took a trip to this magical fantasy cupcake land while we lived near it in the T dot.

The bundles of joy freshly baked from scratch, the pretty colours and designs, the soft and sumptuous icing, the... oh, it's just too much.

Please go and eat a cupcake there on my behalf.

-le tear-

Oh, and while you're at it, send me one of those Cupcake Rings from Emma-Jane and Tam.

(Ok, maybe that last mention was a bit off-topic, but c'mon. I couldn't make another cupcake-themed post. I'm drooling too much already.)

Hey There Cupcake

Crocheted! Cupcakes! That smell like Cupcakes!

And they come in a Chocolate flavoured gift box!

Thanks Shana Logic and Peep Accessories for making the world a better place.

Seriously, is there anything else in the universe that I love more than plush versions of food?

Ok, maybe like, a person or two. But not too many!

Suck An Egg, Vampires

I don't cook much.
It's because I'm lazy.
I'm Italian (esque).
I like garlic.

I don't like "Garlic Hands."
I do like European designs.

I want this garlic roller.
I'm told that the steel handles actually remove the smell of garlic from your hands.

Looooooooooooooove iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

My Arteries Are Clogging Just Thinking About It

I don't have much to say about this but....it makes mini donuts. How could I NOT post about it? Miniature deep fried puffs of deliciousness all in the comfort of your own home! Genius.

Long Knives Drawn

Man, it's been a tough week. I went back to work after having a nice, relaxing week off and found myself swamped. I've been busy every night finishing up birthday/wedding/shower presents that all seem to be happening this weekend. And, to top it all off, I've carried the sole responsibility of posting on LIAL, as I seem to be getting no help from my peers. I don't think they even realize the stress I've been under trying to keep this afloat. No wonder I keep imagining all the things I could do to them with these beautiful Jax Collection of knives from CulinHome.

The Birds And The Bees And The Honey Trees

I never thought that I would be a fan of placemats, EVER, but these Birds and Trees Placemats from Click! Design That Fits are kind of making me change my tune.
