Hard Candy
LOOOOOOVE these candy-coloured works-of-art-furniture from Guerrilla Design... I can't seem to find a website for them, but here is their page from the recent March 2008 One-of-A-Kind Show.
Beautiful!

Hollie... have you seen the new Either/Or Convertible Sofa from Urban Outfitters? It comes in lovely colors. It is lovely. You can preorder it now.
How pumped are you?
If you end up buying this couch, I get your old one. Deal?

I think LIAL needs its own little section devoted to Ping Pong... always entertaining, the little rec room game is really getting star design treatment these days. No space? Well may I offer the second solution to table tennis-loving apartment dwellers: Ping Pong Door. During the day the table folds up into a perfectly functional and unassuming door. At night? Well its party time my friend!
Double bonus: if Ping Pong ever becomes illegal, you are positioned to be the center of the underground resistance movement!

I was JUST looking for a wire chair on the weekend during one of our shopping trips for White Elephant and came back empty handed. Chair-wise, at least. Lo and behold, what do I find on Urban Outfitters today? The beautiful De La Tour Chair.
Sometimes you break my heart, UO. And my bank account.

Ok, so I know that I'm supposed to endorse vintage finds and have them in my own home, and I do, I really do. But, you have no idea how hard it is to find a mint-condition vintage couch from the 50's/60's in Hamilton. If it were easy, I would have one by now. Enter the BYRD sofa from EQ3, and all my problems are solved. Except for the price part. Maybe while I'm saving up for this retro-inspired baby, I'll come across the vintage couch of my dreams. Until then, I'll be dreaming each night of BYRD's.
And sorry guys, Jane already called my old couch.

This morning in my usual flurry of online shopping, I went somewhere I haven't been in a few weeks: Urban Outfitters. And do you know what I was greeted with at Urban Outfitters? Do you???
Free Shipping on all upholstered furniture until the end of the week. Hurry! The sale ends January 20th at midnight.
I don't mind sleeping on the sofa but this would be excellent for guests. Bonus? You may feel like you are in a Bond film!

Why, of course I would love one or two of these Fuji Hampers from Pier 1.
How kind of you to ask.
Not only does it match the rest of our bedroom furniture décor, it can also be used as a side table, or something nice-looking you could place in a hallway with a swanky flower arrangement on top.
Come to think of it, while you're picking some up, I'll have 3 or 4 please.
Thanks.

Excuse me, pardon me, but I just found out that Pottery Barn has a PB Teen website. I know, I know, gag right?
Except that I just spent the last 20 minutes drooling over chandeliers like this, and jewellery holders like this.

Do you love this chair?
I love this chair.
Granted, I would love it more in a different color, but still, I love this chair.

Oh my! I am a big fan of sleeping. No, a huge fan. I love things that are soft and comfy, and hereby declare that people who like hard bed and flat pillows are full out freaks.
So let me just introduce to you the most comfy looking thing ever: Le Beanock. Genius. Everyone loves hammocks. Most sane people love comfy beds. And these folks have put the two together to create something that makes me drool a little bit at the corners of my mouth.

Oh my my my.
Check out The Paris Apartment, and commence drooling immediately. This place has the most beautiful antiques ever, and OH MY GOD the owner, Claudia, arranges Paris shopping trips with you! Gah! I am so jealous.
I am also, absolutely 100% in love with this White Chanel Chandelier.

I covet this Old Hollywood Regency Room Divider Screen that is on Ebay right now. It's going for $106 right now, which is a really great steal. If I lived in the area I would buy it in a second, but alas, shipping to Canada would probably cost me three times more than I paid for it.
Sigh.

Faced with the daunting task of decorating a giant apartment on a tiny budget, I've become pretty obsessed with vintage furniture lately.
And let me just say that the storage furniture at Weego Home takes the cake. Sure, I can't afford it, but maybe the rest of the Internet isn't as strapped for cash as I am. Maybe someone out there will buy it, and then I can live vicariously through them! Maybe!
I particularly love the Rex Shelving Unit, but the Zig Zag Shelves are also great.

I'm not incredibly handy but I do (or did)* own a lot of Ikea furniture. Heck, I'll put it out there and say that I genuinely like Ikea (except for their 'art'). I have no beef. Sure its cheap and mass produced design but at least its a) design and b) cheap. And their commercials are pretty awesome.
But now, even if you have some weird Ikea hang-ups, you can use this blog to customize your Ikea purchase so it becomes original! Individual! Artistic! Well, until other people start copying your hacks.
*Not that I've grown up and purchased a proper dining room set, but living a semi-transient lifestyle in England means I own no furniture at all. I dream of fake birch side tables.

There are really only three reasons why I might consider getting pregnant:
1. To wear cute maternity clothing
2. To try out some pre-natal yoga classes
3. To get a good parking spot at the grocery store.
But alas, I have found another reason to add to my list:
4. So I can make myself a registry at ella + elliot.
I chanced to wander into this delightful little boutique the other day and couldn't help but love, well, almost everything. Their store features modern designer-quality baby stuffs that not only y'know, help you take care of babies, but can double as works of art. And they make efforts to be sustainable too!
Luckily, they will be creating an online store soon, so you can browse more closely all of their fabulous wares, such as this lovely nursery set from Netto Collection.
It's just too bad babies are so messy; I'd want to keep them as far away from these pretty things as possible.

Instinctively, I was going to start this post with the sentence "at what point in my life am I going to be able to spend money on expensive things like this??"
But then I actually looked at the price, and HELLO this Teal Brocade Slipper Chair is $99.00!!!

It took me forever to select a picture for this post, because I love every single one of the Ottomans over at Jenna Rose. Seriously. I love them all.
OH MY GOD Update: I just looked at the rest of her site. Not only is she a local Ontario native, she also makes an insane amount of ridiculously lovely things (aka everything she sells)! I'm especially fond of the Holly Hats.

This Low Sideboard from Fluid Living is exactly what the kind of thing I've been looking for to put in my living room. It's simple, it will hold my records and record player, and it kind of reminds me of my grandmother, which is always a good thing.

Now I heard whispers that the whole deer/antler decor thing is on it's way out. But that can't be true, because if that were true it would mean that I would have to stop loving this Ari Side Table from Oly, and I just don't think I can do that. I guess I'll just have to resign to the fact that my tastes are like, so last year.
