Look What's Coming

Guess what? White Elephant Vintage loves Pyrex, and we sort of kind of think you might love it as well. That's why we have spent the last few months collecting every single set of Pyrex we could get our hands on... and we're posting it all... TONIGHT.

Here's a little sneak peak for your pyrex viewing pleasure.

Turncoat

Part of me feels guilty about posting a fabulous vintage find that neither Jane and I scooped up. But then the other part of me would feel way more guilty if I didn't use my internet powers for good and let everyone know about these incredible vintage store signs from blue bell bazaar.

But seriously guys, don't buy all of them. I've got my eye on two, and am thisclose to purchasing them for my new workspace.

Schnaaaaaaaaaaarkkkk!

AK, I know that you told Jane that posting things from White Elephant Vintage is tacky, but you know what? I don't really care. ESPECIALLY when I consider it more tacky to have your home furnished unfabulously. And ESPECIALLY coming from someone who doesn't post anymore.

So, if your home is what's actually tacky, may I suggest this gorgeous canister set? They may be the easiest way to add some class to your kitchen. And your life.

It's Raining White Elephants

The woman who sits behind me is listening to "It's Raining Men" right now. Somehow I think all this precipitation talk has got to me, because I was going to post about the beautiful 1950's and 60's globes as White Elephant Vintage, but now all I want to talk about is this gorgeous Nautical Themed Needlepoint.

If you ask me, Needlepoint is a lost art. Sure, it's still around, but I want to bring it back to the full extent it used to be. Needlepoint in every home I say! Ship prints in every home!

Also.. on a completely unrelated note... did you know we have Sparks from a Celestial Bomb? Because we do.

Fat Cats

Do you know what I love? Valentine's Day. All those people who go on and on about it being a commercialized holiday made up by corporate fat cats can bite me, Valentine's Day has a long and glorious tradition.

So glorious in fact, that White Elephant Vintage is selling really old, really beautiful, vintage valentines. Some of these babies are from 1919, and they are still as cute as ever.

Will The Flip Finish Him?

I'm in the process of re-decorating my apartment, and am currently collecting photos/prints/paintings for an "art wall" of sorts. And boy oh boy, was I excited when I came across this Vintage 1930's Chinese War Medical Poster during my search for vintage medical charts. Isn't it just the most amazing thing EVER?

Because I am such a good person, (and out of money until my next paycheque) I decided to share it with all of you. So please, someone buy it for me to repay me for my kindness.

How And Why Wonder Love

I think the wonderful thing about this website, is that all the people contributing came to terms with the fact that we're a little bit nerdy a long time ago.

That's why I present to you, dear readers and writers, this fantastic collection of How & Why Wonder Books over at White Elephant Vintage. I fell in love with this series a few months ago when we stumbled upon one lone book, and now we have 13 glorious volumes! The illustrations are amazing, and I really can't say enough about how great these are.

Is anyone still looking for a Christmas present for Daryl? Because I think we found it for you...

Eyeglasses Porn

HELLO SHOP OF MY DREAMS.

Seriously, this is the best idea I've seen in a while. Unique Eyewear of Texas not only sell amazing vintage frames, but since they work out of an optometrist clinic they will also fit your newly purchased vintage frames with your prescription lenses. I have had a pair of vintage glasses for almost a year now, sitting idly in my jewelry box because I have been too lazy to go and get some lenses. SO I KNOW HOW AMAZING THIS STORE REALLY IS.

Seriously, heaven. I am such a glasses nerd.

E Is For Elephant

We just finished a massive, exhausting shop update over at White Elephant Vintage, and I have one thing on the brain: letters. We found these amazing vintage wooden letters, and I want to put them up on my walls and refuse to sell them to anyone. Unfortunately, Hollie won't let me. I tried to and she hit me. Hard.

We also found these beautiful vintage block sets, and spelled out all kinds of lovely words for you. Ak, if I were to give you a set, I would give you Whiz. Like Whiz Kid. And Cheese Whiz. And "Oh Gee Whiz, you're so dreamy".

I Love You Baby

Dearest Love It A Lot, I'm sorry if I've been absent lately. I'll be better baby, I swear.

Unfortunately, the new job does not allow "posting on public forums", and I think this may just qualify. So between the slacking at work, and posting lovely things on White Elephant at night, I've been bad. I've neglected you. And I am sorry.

So sorry, that I'll only mention the great big shop update White Elephant Vintage just did one time. Just once. I promise.

Sleeping On The Sidewalk

Sure, so maybe White Elephant Vintage updated their site with loads of new stuff on Monday, but I'm really just getting around to posting about it now. Why? Because Hollie and I spent the weekend nursing hangovers that actually threatened to consume our souls. So maybe it takes me a little longer to remember to do things like blog... because I am more concerned with things like not passing out on the sidewalk.

Anyway, you can see the new updates here, and read about our weekend shopping trip here.

It's That Time Again...

Oh my, is it Monday already?

If you haven't figured it out by now, White Elephant Vintage updates their shop with brand new goodies every Monday. So rush over there now to check out the fantastic vintage glass ornaments, or this Vintage Needlepoint Silhouette of a Detective that I pretty much want someone to buy me for Christmas. Seriously. How much of a surprise would that be? Buy it for me and mail it back to me. Please?

Also, you can always check out the blog and sign up for their mailing list for more updates and shop news.

Dear Ramona West, Let's Be Best Friends (An Open Letter)

I'm sorry if that creeps you out, but let's face it; it's not nearly as creepy as when I wrote to JTT in grade 5 and told him I think we would actually fall in love if he met me. And that he should come visit me in Hamilton and we would hang out at Beulah park. But I digress....

I think we should be best friends so that you could lend me this amazing dress and convince me to wear it on my next date. And because for Christmas you could give me this belted magenta dress and I would proudly wear it to work and look more amazing than anyone else there. In return I would watch a lot of really bad reality shows with you and agree that yes, Spencer really is that insane.

So what do you say?

Going A Little Crazy

You'll have to excuse my memory... I've been extremely busy and tend to forget things.

So I hope you don't mind me asking, but did we already tell you that White Elephant Vintage just had a huge shop update? We didn't? Oh, well allow me to correct that problem: White Elephant Vintage just had a huge shop update.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

I always imagined myself being elated if Jane and I found something amazing to sell on White Elephant Vintage, but it's not really like that. At all. I am actually having tiny panic attacks that these absolutely freaking gorgeous Glass Hanging Lamps will no longer be in our possession.

Seriously Jane, can we not just divvy them up between us? I call the green.

Sunburst Love!

Look... a beautiful vintage sunburst clock.

Do you want it as much as I do? I'll let you in on a little secret... it is currently sitting in my office, waiting for some lucky person to buy it. But Oh My God I am *this* close to taking it off the for sale page and hanging it above my fireplace.

That is the problem with White Elephant Vintage; I want to keep everything for myself!

Did You Hear?

I heard a little rumor that White Elephant Vintage updated their shop.

Could it possibly be true?? Yes, it is.

The People's Princess

I have a Holga and I love it. But when I bought it a couple of years ago, what I really wanted was a Diana, but at that time, they were pretty hard to find in working order. That's why I am so so so so SO excited that Lomography has reproduced them! To a T! With even more features than before!

I am a little afraid of the fact that if I do in fact purchase one, Jane will make fun of the fact that my collection of cameras has grown to 18. But Jane, I never make fun of your vibrator collection. And I really should. Because it's big.

Sweet Kicks

I love how sporting a pair of vibrant vintage sneakers adds the perfect amount of colour to my fall wardrobe.

That is the reason why I love the pair of bright blue Onitsuka Tiger Mexico '66 trainers I picked up a few months ago.

But I would still much rather break the bank and buy these fetching new ZX 600 Jamaica runners from Adidas Originals.

Ire mon.

Jealously Rears Its Ugly Head

As a child, did you ever have a Magic Garden Kit?

I did not.

However, both of my brothers did, and it left me insanely jealous. That's probably why I am still fascinated by them. They're just so.... neat. Honestly, you add some special solution (provided) to this little paper garden, and suddenly everything blooms! It's pretty, it's fun, and it will bring you back to the good ol' days.
